A Mobility Snap Info survey is a short poll used to collect pertinent information on a specific mobility topic. The goal is to make the survey brief and to the point in order to gather data, tabulate it and get the results back out in a snap! The first in our series of Mobility Snap Info surveys asked questions about Gross Up and Tax Assistance. As expected, the vast majority (71%) provide gross up on US Domestic Relocation benefits and 76% provide Tax Equalization for Global Assignments. The most popular form of gross up provided is Supplemental at 50% with Marginal following at 36%. I was not surprised to see that very few companies, only 7%, provide any dispute resolution gross up audits. However, I expect to see that number change as employees and employers assess the effect of relocation costs included in income on the eligibility for specific credits under the Taxpayer Relief Act.
